KENSHŌ’s spacious corridors of 2.7m height make more of transitions between spaces. They also establish a style baseline. Calm corridors are welcome moments of decompression often following or preceding vibrant moments spent in the common spaces or private areas. The sculpted leather artworks by British artist Helen Amy Murray, and the soft overhead lanterns make them memorable yet easy enough to experience multiple times a day. Each rooms entry door is through a lightly concave wooden lined vestibule in the form of a shell. The doors feature custom designed cast bronze handles inspired by coral and set in a small inlaid metal shield. A sheer fabric lined glass elevator serves all levels and works as a moving lantern throughout the boat. Sculpted wooden feature stairs carve their way between floors. The curved walls are lined with an array of leather embossed architectural shells creating rhythm and intimacy between levels. main deck interior dining: A yachts dining room is a tricky space. Infrequently used, guests prefer to take advantage of one of yachting’s best experiences-outdoor dining. But what if we could use the space allocated to indoor dining day and night? What if it was not just a dining space but also a library, a physical logbook of all the ships explorations of the planet? A collection of private mementos, cultural artefacts and elements that recall the myths and the pull the seas have had on humans since the beginning of time? If done this way, it would become a place that is central to storytelling and entertaining. KENSHŌ’s dining room is exactly that. The reliquary of history in a space that is multifunctional yet never forgets its purpose to entertain and dazzle. Upper Deck: The upper deck is conceived as one fully connected, multifunctional space. External decks merge with the interior. Inside, the deck is divided into three intercommunicating spaces that function as one. The result is a previously unimagined quality of spatial experience. While other boats reserve these kinds of relationships for smaller sun decks, KENSHŌ pushes the limits allowing a diversity of spaces and experiences thanks to its revolutionary design. The 85m2 main living room forward is a masterstroke of KENSHŌ’s design and configuration. Historically this space is given over to a vessel wheel house. KENSHŌ’s ingenious layout allowed this important function to be positioned on the forward main deck freeing up for a space unknown to most yachts.
