Help & FAQs
Quick answers about xplor — simple, clear, and to the point.
General
xplor is the AI agent for the yachting industry — one conversation for the whole business. Find a charter, buy a yacht, book an owner-operated fleet, reach marine services, hire crew or get hired, study for your tickets, and stay compliant. It spans 18,000+ yachts (5,000+ listed for sale) and 25,000+ marine services across 143 countries, with 16,000+ marinas mapped. It is free for clients, and we never take a cut of the broker’s fee.
Anyone in or around yachting. Charter clients search and compare the market in one place. Buyers browse yachts for sale. Brokers and central agents get their yachts discovered. Owners keep their vessel visible. Crew build profiles, apply to live jobs, and get found. Service providers list their business and receive enquiries directly.
xplor is a neutral agent and search layer, not a brokerage. We hold no brokerage licence, take no share of earnings, route no enquiry to the highest bidder, and sell no leads. Every direct enquiry goes to the listing’s central agent or the service provider. The same posture holds across every vertical — we surface what you need and hand off to the industry.
Yi-1
Yi-1 is xplor’s yacht-intelligence agent. Tell it what you need in plain language and it builds a brief, asks for anything missing, and returns a shortlist from the live fleet. It is free to use, and when you send an enquiry it goes to the listing’s central agent — the same neutrality rules as the rest of xplor.
Charter and sale searches, a week on an owner-operated fleet, a marine service in a specific port, crew jobs, study help for your tickets, or a compliance question about certificates and surveys. Ask the way you’d ask a colleague — “80m motor yacht in Greece for August”, “a rigger in Palma”, “deckhand jobs in the Med”.
Charter
Start with Yi-1, or browse discovery directly. Under the agent is a natural-language semantic engine: type how you think (“50m motor yacht Mediterranean August 12 guests”) and it reads size, region, type, guest count and dates at once, ranking by match quality.
Two sources. Yachts with published pricing show that rate directly. For yachts listed as Price on Request, xplor searches live brokerage listings across the web to surface real market pricing where available. Pricing is always shown with its source, so you know what you are looking at.
Yes. xplor handles port-city searches differently from region searches. Search Dubai or Singapore and results are filtered to yachts actually based near that location — not just any Mediterranean yacht. If availability is limited, we tell you honestly and show the nearest alternatives.
Purchase
You can find one. Browse 5,000+ yachts listed for sale using the For Sale toggle on discovery, or ask Yi-1 to shortlist by builder, size and budget. Request a viewing or price and availability through the agent — the transaction itself is handled by the broker, as it should be.
Motor yachts, sailing yachts, catamarans, explorer yachts, motor-sailers, and performance sailing yachts. Include the type in your search and xplor filters accordingly.
Fleet charter
A distinct booking model: a set week directly with the operator who owns and runs a fleet — bareboat, skippered or crewed — rather than a bespoke charter on a single large yacht. Browse the operators on the fleet page and enquire directly with them.
A regular charter is a one-off booking of a specific yacht through its central agent. A fleet charter is a standard week (typically Saturday to Saturday) with an owner-operated fleet — same-day starts, a fixed rhythm, and the people who run the boats on the other end of the enquiry.
Marine services
Yes — 25,000+ marine services across 143 countries. Search the directory by port or position, or just ask Yi-1 (“I need a rigger in Palma”). Enquiries go straight to the provider; xplor does not stand between you and them.
Yes. List or claim your business, and enquiries reach you directly. You own the profile; xplor routes demand to it.
Crew & jobs
Yes, it’s live. We aggregate crew roles from the agencies alongside positions posted directly on xplor — 411 open right now. Apply on the source listing or in-app, depending on the role. xplor is a matcher and distributor, never the employer.
Yes. Build a profile, get found by the industry, and connect it to the yachts you’ve worked. It’s yours to control.
No. Browsing and applying to jobs is free, always.
xplor School
Preparatory study aligned to the published certificate syllabus (MCA, USCG and AMSA pathways) — 1,330 lessons across 106 courses, plus a mock oral examiner that questions you one at a time and grades a readiness debrief. Studying the material is free.
Studying the lessons is free. Some courses may later be offered as a one-off purchase with lifetime access — bought outright, not rented by subscription — but nothing is on sale today. See the pricing page for how that will work.
Compliance & Mission Control
It tracks a vessel’s certificates, surveys and flag-state and class requirements against real rules — so you can see what’s due, when, and what’s missing. It reflects published requirements rather than guessing.
A yacht’s operational workspace — compliance, documents and schedules in one place. It is public but in beta: usable today, still being built out. The full management back office (payroll, taxes, SOPs, DPA, insurance, accounts, safety & medical, crew lists) is coming.
Brokers & Central Agents
Yes. Every yacht gets full search visibility for free. Brokers and central agents can claim and verify their listings, add pricing, and connect their fleet at no cost. Paid plans, where they exist, are for tools and analytics — never for search position. You cannot buy your way up the rankings.
No. xplor holds no brokerage licence, takes no cut of the broker’s fee, and does not insert itself into the booking process. The broker who does the work keeps what they earn, whole. Direct client enquiries go to the central agent first. Co-brokers find yachts on xplor and contact the CA through normal industry channels. The existing earnings structure is untouched.
When a client finds a yacht and enquires without a co-broker, the enquiry goes directly to the central agent. xplor does not redirect, resell, or route that enquiry to any other party. What happens next is standard industry practice.
Many yachts are already in the database from public sources. Brokers and CAs can claim and verify their listings, add pricing, and connect their fleet. Contact us to discuss fleet onboarding or an API data feed.
The broker with an exclusive management contract from the owner. On xplor the CA holds the canonical listing for that yacht — their contact details appear first on any direct enquiry. Owners can also register as their own central agent.
Yacht Owners
Find your yacht in search or on discovery and choose “Claim this yacht”. You’ll be prompted to verify your ownership or central-agency relationship. Once approved, you control the listing details, pricing and media.
No. xplor is a discovery and reputation layer — it does not touch your central-agency contract, your earnings structure, or your owner relationship. Your CA continues to manage all bookings as normal.
Nothing. Listing is free. Your vessel is discoverable to the global market at no cost.
Reviews
Not yet. The verified-review system is built — reviews are confirmed against booking records after the charter end date, so only people who were actually aboard can leave one — but reviews are not displayed publicly until there is enough verified volume for a rating to mean something. We would rather show nothing than show a thin or gameable score.
Pricing & billing
The core is free, always: searching, browsing, talking to Yi-1, and applying to jobs cost nothing.
A few honest ways. Courses are bought outright — a one-off purchase with lifetime access. AI creations (CVs, itineraries, menus, reels) are free up to an allowance, then paid, because each one costs real money to produce. Vessel management will be a per-vessel subscription when it lands. And on charters and sales that originate through xplor, xplor will earn an introducer’s share — standard co-broker economics, where the broker who introduces the client earns a split; xplor introduced the client, so xplor earns a share. That is never a cut of the working broker’s fee — they keep what they earn, whole — and it is the intended model, not money changing hands today. We never sell leads, auction enquiries, or sell search placement.
No. This is the line that never bends: you cannot buy your way up xplor’s search. Ranking is relevance-only — no priority placement, no paid position, no lead auction. Paid plans buy tools and analytics, never rank.
No. xplor does not process bookings and charges no booking fee. The charter price you see is the charter price — xplor adds nothing to it.
