Work

How work through xplor works

Daywork and short contracts on yachts: what xplor does, what the employer does, and what it costs you — nothing.

Who we are

xplor is a platform for yachts and the people who work on them. For work, xplor checks who you are and what you hold, takes the booking from the yacht, and prepares the gate list for the yard or marina. xplor doesn't employ anyone.

Free for workers

You never pay xplor anything: not to sign up, not for your Daywork Pass, not to be booked. Nothing is ever taken from your pay.

Who may work where

Whether you can work on yachts depends on the country and on your right to work there. See working on yachts in Spain, or ask Bridge about your own case.

Who employs you, and when

Every booking has one employer, and the booking shows which:

  • an employer partner — a licensed employer for shore daywork in Spain, or an MLC crew employer for short-contract crew; or
  • the yacht's own company, when it employs you directly.

The employer signs your contract, registers you with Social Security, pays you and gives you your payslip. You are employed only once your booking shows Employed. Don't start work before that.

How your data is shared

Your details go to the employer only for a booking you have accepted, and only what they need to employ you. Employers never see anyone else on xplor. The yard or marina gets the gate list for its site: your name and the dates you'll be there. Every introduction to an employer partner is logged. More in our privacy policy.

Fees

Each job shows one price before the yacht books: the worker-days, a one-time job setup fee per worker on jobs under 30 days, and IVA. It includes the legal employment contract, Social Security and accident cover, yard clearance, supervision and the xplor service. Workers never pay.

The yacht sees one price before it books: the worker-days and, on jobs under 30 days, a one-time job setup fee per worker, plus IVA. What's included: the legal employment contract, Social Security and accident cover, yard clearance, supervision and the xplor service. The yacht pays xplor by SEPA Direct Debit, bank transfer or card; the employer pays you, and nothing is ever taken from your pay.

How to complain

If something goes wrong — a booking, your pay, a contract, or how you were treated — email support@xplor.io with the booking. Contracts and pay are the employer's: we pass your complaint to them and follow it up with you. You can always go to the labour inspectorate (Inspección de Trabajo y Seguridad Social) as well; xplor never stops you.
