Salvagni Architetti's interior architecture aboard CANALI transforms the conventional yacht salon through a series of interconnected living volumes that flow vertically rather than merely horizontally.

Where most motor yachts of this scale organize spaces in predictable linear sequences, the Roman design house created dramatic sightlines that pull the eye upward through carefully positioned apertures and multi-level arrangements, lending the 33. 89-meter interior an unexpectedly sculptural quality.

A 33.89m Canados Motor Yacht

About this yacht

Salvagni Architetti's interior architecture aboard CANALI transforms the conventional yacht salon through a series of interconnected living volumes that flow vertically rather than merely horizontally. Where most motor yachts of this scale organize spaces in predictable linear sequences, the Roman design house created dramatic sightlines that pull the eye upward through carefully positioned apertures and multi-level arrangements, lending the 33.89-meter interior an unexpectedly sculptural quality. This approach to spatial organization reveals itself most clearly in how natural light moves through the yacht's central areas. Rather than relying solely on traditional porthole placement, Salvagni positioned openings to create shifting patterns of illumination that change throughout the day, with certain surfaces catching morning light while others come alive in the late afternoon. The effect transforms what could have been standard entertaining areas into something closer to contemporary residential architecture. Canados launched this motor yacht in 2008 as part of their exploration into how Italian design sensibilities could reshape the typical charter yacht experience. The builder's own naval architecture and exterior styling provide a restrained backdrop for the interior interventions, with the 7.3-meter beam offering sufficient volume for Salvagni's vertical experiments without overwhelming the yacht's proportions. Ten guests discover these spatial relationships through daily use rather than grand reveals. The way conversation areas connect to one another, how dining transitions into relaxation zones, and where private moments naturally occur all reflect the interior designer's understanding of how people actually move through shared spaces over the course of a charter week. Five crew members operate CANALI from quarters that maintain the same attention to proportion and light quality found throughout the guest areas, ensuring the yacht functions as cohesively as it presents itself.
