About this yacht

Bender's 1982 creation spans nearly the full width of a basketball court at 12.2 meters, creating what becomes immediately apparent as one of the most generous beach clubs of her era. GLOBAL transforms her substantial beam into a waterside sanctuary where the stern opens completely to the sea, forming an uninterrupted platform that functions as both launching point for water sports and sheltered retreat when the yacht swings at anchor. Naval architect Boris Kirilloff working alongside Bender Shipbuilding designed this 67-meter motor yacht with the beach club as her gravitational center. The space extends well beyond typical stern arrangements, incorporating dedicated storage for water toys within easy reach of the swim platform, while built-in seating curves along the transom to accommodate the full complement of twelve guests. When the day's activities wind down, the same area converts to an evening lounge where the boundary between yacht and ocean dissolves entirely. Kimberly Gonzales carried this connection to the water throughout GLOBAL's interior spaces, creating sightlines that draw the eye consistently back toward the sea. Her design choices emphasize the yacht's 1,303 gross tons through proportions that feel substantial rather than overwhelming, with each of the guest areas maintaining clear visual access to the water beyond. Lay, Pitman & Associates shaped GLOBAL's exterior profile to complement rather than compete with her generous beam, creating deck spaces that flow naturally toward that commanding beach club. The design team's decisions forty years ago continue to prove their worth, as GLOBAL's layout anticipates the way guests actually move through a yacht of this scale, always returning them to that essential connection with the water that defines her character. At twelve crew members supporting twelve guests, GLOBAL operates with the kind of attention to detail that allows her beach club concept to function exactly as intended, whether guests are preparing for a morning dive or settling in for sunset cocktails with their feet nearly touching the waves.
