About this yacht
Gregory Marshall's explorer yacht design reaches its newest expression in KING BENJI, delivered by Dunya Yachts in 2024 as a purpose-built vessel for extended ocean voyaging. Her steel hull construction and 4,000-nautical-mile range establish the framework for genuine expedition capability, while her 499-ton displacement allows for the kind of robust engineering that serious exploration demands. The yacht's architectural approach centers on adaptability and self-sufficiency. Her expansive aft deck transforms into a primary entertaining venue when the 39-foot custom Nor-Tech tender and water toys deploy via the 10-ton crane system. This mechanical choreography reflects the broader design philosophy where every space serves multiple functions across different phases of a voyage. Naval architect Marshall has configured the 47-meter platform around outdoor living, with dual hot and cold plunge pools at the bow that combine into a single large jacuzzi. The bridge deck houses a teppanyaki grill with seating for eight, while the crow's nest provides elevated panoramic viewing. Design Unlimited's interiorwork emphasizes connectivity to the marine environment through flush sliding doors that open the main salon and sky lounge to three sides. KING BENJI's water sports inventory spans the recreational spectrum, from diving gear and SCUBA compressor for underwater exploration to flyboards and an inflatable slide for surface entertainment. The chase boat enables remote drop-offs and pickups, extending the yacht's operational radius beyond her immediate anchorage. From her Naples and Dubrovnik bases, the yacht covers Mediterranean and Caribbean territories with equal facility. Her 12-knot cruising speed and substantial fuel capacity support extended passages between island groups, while her steel construction provides the durability that expedition-style yachting requires across varying sea conditions and remote anchorages.
