Balk Shipyard
Old family-rooted Dutch yard at Urk on the IJsselmeer that now works almost entirely on refits, rebuilds and hull extensions of motor and sailing yachts up to 65 m. It hauls yachts on its own slipway lifting system rather than a travel lift and works under cover in three climate-controlled halls. Recent jobs include the 16-month rebuild and stern extension of the 1990 Feadship Emerald and a 6 m lengthening of the explorer Ursus.
