Three quick readings

  • Greek-flag 30 m sailing yacht, 150 GT, 10 guests, week charter. Over 24 m, so the scale applies: one Κυβερνήτης Γ' on deck (or a Κυβερνήτης Τουριστικών Θαλαμηγών), engine crew by BHP.
  • EU-flag 14 m catamaran, 10 guests, week charter. Under 24 m and 14 passengers: no scale. The person in command needs a Υ.Α. 3342/02/2004 qualification (L1.2).
  • Maltese-flag 1,000 GT yacht. 650 GT or more and not Greek-flag: Maltese manning rules apply.

CAUTION — The scale is a floor The decision does not override survival-craft crewing on the safety certificate or rest-hour rules (art. 2(5)). Hospitality staff sit outside the scale as λοιπό προσωπικό.

TIP — Exactly 650 GT The law says "up to 650 gt" and "from 650 gt and above", which overlap. If your yacht measures 650 GT, get the Port Authority's reading in writing.
