Moving around the yard

STP-M1 · STP Shipyard Palma induction · STP-M1-A The ten lessons every worker completes before entering the yard.

Travel-lifts, cranes and vehicles: how to move safely.

On the roads

  • Speed limit 20 km/h. Seatbelts, or helmets, where they apply. Dipped headlights are recommended.
  • No scooters, skateboards, inline skates, or e-bikes in automatic mode. No campervans or caravans.
  • Travel-lifts and heavy machinery always have right of way.

Lifts and loads

  • Never walk or drive under a travel-lift — unless it is parked, with no load and no manoeuvre, or STP staff tell you it's safe.
  • Keep away from crane and travel-lift operations, and never stand under a suspended load.

Do and don't: wait for the travel-lift to pass, never walk under a suspended load, use the pedestrian route

Walking and working

  • Don't walk in the vehicle lanes. Look before you cross.
  • No work in vehicle transit areas.

Parking

  • Park in the main car park, next to area S. The esplanade "P" spaces are for technicians working on vessels.
  • Park facing the quickest exit.
  • Leave nothing on the travel-lift road.
