Lifting, beaching and the yacht on the hard

STP-M1 · STP Shipyard Palma induction · STP-M1-A The ten lessons every worker completes before entering the yard.

The no-go zones while STP lifts, moves and supports a vessel.

While STP lifts or moves a vessel

  • During hoisting, transfer, beaching and launching, only STP staff may enter the work area.
  • No one on board a vessel while it is being lifted, moved or launched.
  • Keep clear of mooring lines and tow ropes while a vessel is berthing: they can snap.
  • Underwater hull cleaning is done by STP only. Keep out of the area.

Getting on and off

Use only the ladders and gangways STP installs or authorises, and only once the installer says they're ready. Never modify them.

A yacht on the hard

While a vessel stands ashore:

  • no starting or test-starting engines;
  • no hoisting sails;
  • no moving heavy weights on board.

Anything that could affect its stability is done or supervised by STP.

A yacht ashore on its supports: never touch the props, no engine starts, no sails, no moving heavy weights

WARNING — The props Never touch the supports ("props") a yacht stands on. Only STP staff may change them.

Keep away from the hot exhausts of travel-lifts, forklifts and cranes.
